- The countryman went on his way to the town market to buy a load of special pears to sell. While he was selling his special pear tree at the market, suddenly a poor, old, ragged, hungry-looking priest stopped him to beg for a piece of a pear.
Rising Action
- When the countryman disparaged the old priest and called him all the bad names he could think of, they got into a quarrel until they caused a lot of trouble, and the constable of the market had to interfere and buy the old priest a piece of pear for the peace at the market.
Climax
- When the old priest is preaching and starts to perform a little miracle or trick, all of a sudden he has a lot of pear to share with the crowd.The moment the countryman realizes his barrel of pears is empty, he thought that the pears offered to the crowd by the old priest were his barrow of pears.
Falling Action
- At the time when he was looking for the priest, he found the handle of his barrow, making it obvious that the old priest stole it.
Resolution
- No one ever saw the old priest again. After that, all of the people at the market couldn't help but laugh at the countryman's misfortune.
